The Story
The Fontpatour Dairy was built in the 1930s and produced mainly powdered milk and later butter. The activity ceased in 1973. Completely restored in 2011, this industrial wasteland was transformed into a quiet and peaceful place to stay, while respecting the character of the building. The former manufacturing workshop was completely redesigned and fitted out, retaining its large, bright spaces and its large openings to the outside.
The idyllic setting of the large garden bordered by streams seemed to us to be the right place to set up our guest house and offer you relaxation and rejuvenation. So, since 2015, we welcome you to our home, in a real guest house where we also live, you will share a little of our life, in a pure spirit of exchange and conviviality.
The industrial spirit of La Laiterie lives on in our house, our furniture and decoration, essentially vintage, are made up of various authentic objects, found here and there, to which we wish to give a second life, by giving them a “home-made” makeover if necessary.
We are particularly attached to the atypical and industrial side of this site, however, each accommodation has its own atmosphere, its own theme while maintaining a living space conducive to rest.

Ideally located, in the heart of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region, the Laiterie de Fontpatour is 5km from the La Rochelle – Marais Poitevin axis and 18km from the centre of La Rochelle (15-20 min).

La Laiterie de Fontpatour offers 4 guest rooms (chambre d’hôte reference, label 3 coeurs) and 2 gîtes (classified 3 stars by Charente-Maritime Tourisme). Our accommodation is air-conditioned to cool your summer nights. Each of them has access to Wi-Fi, parking and a swimming pool. The bathrooms are equipped with towel dryers and hair dryers.
The swimming pool is heated from May to September and is open to all (children must be accompanied). For 2021, the swimming pool is open, remember to bring your swimming costumes and beach towels! It will be open until about the end of September, depending on the weather conditions.
Several tables are at your disposal in the garden, so that you can have your meals there, in the shade of the large trees. A refrigerator is also available for our guests. In these complicated times of restaurant closures, we can, if necessary, lend you dishes and a place at our table. It is possible, exceptionally, to eat in the rooms, when there is no other option.
We can lend you a baby bed, a high chair and a baby cot.
